The Five Elements: (from right to left)
Metal corresponding to the Lung (& Large Intestine), Earth to the Spleen (& Stomach), Fire to the Heart (& Pericardium, San Jiao, Small Intestine), and Wood to the Liver (& Gall Bladder) , and Water to the Kidney (& Urinary Bladder).

The five elements are used as one of many ways to diagnose illness within "Traditional Chinese Medicine," which is the style of medicine taught in most US schools. However there is also "The Five Element" school whose aim is to interpret one's own element. A person's element is thought to be intrinsic to their being.
