Functions and indications: Clears heat from the head, throat and eyes; forr head ache, red eyes
Moves Qi to relieve Liver Qi stasis with emotional upset
Vents rashes e.g. measles, hives by guiding interior heat to the exterior
Relieves Wind-Heat Exterior conditions.
Dosage in decoction: 2-10 g; cook only 5 minutes
Caution: not for Wei Qi deficiency leading to sweating
Alternatives: There are many other mint species which are also cool, acrid, and aromatic. I prefer to use the mint that grows in my yard rather than importing mint.
