Qin Jiao Gentiana machrophylla root
Properties: acrid, bitter, slightly cold
Channels entered: Liver Gall Bladder, Stomach
Functions & clinical uses: This is the #1 Chinese herb for joint pain.
It expels Wind dampness, unblockes the channels for arthritis
pain with red swollen joints and skin feeling hot above joints.
Helpful for gout.
This herb is also useful for Yin deficiency with steaming bones & tidal fever: feeling
hot inside, sweating, cold at the skin level is possible. Great for menopause with weak joints,
pain, & hot flash. Useful for HIV/AIDS
Reduces jaundice for very yellow/Yang Jaundice due to Damp Heat.
Dosage: 5-10 g in decoction is usual. 12-15 g for HIV person with
joint ache, sweats, blood cancer.
